Harpignies (1819-1916) Barbizon Watercolor Landscape

This is a gorgeous watercolor landscape by the renowned French artist Henri Joseph Harpignies. Harpignies was loosely associated with the Barbizon artists and became a close friend of Corot. He was called the "Michelangelo of trees" by a writer of the period, and became particularly noted for his watercolor and ink wash landscapes. His works varied in style and at times show a decided Impressionist influence. This particular landscape is absolutely stunning! His works are displayed in many museums and sold at the finest galleries and auction houses. This work is petite, measuring approximately 3.5" x 5.5" unframed and 14.5" x 18" framed. It will make an excellent addition for the collector of fine art. Shipping for the USA is $25.
