The word chakra is Sanskrit for wheel or disk and signifies one of seven basic energy centres in the human body. The Chakras have been used in Eastern Medicine for thousands of years. They are spiritual energy centres which control the distribution of life force energy around the body. In holistic medicine it is acknowledged that a chakra which is not balanced creates disease or disharmony in the physical body which causes illness. Each of the seven chakras (or energy centres) has certain qualities and associations. It’s important to know the relationships between the chakras, our emotions and physical challenges. Each crystal has a special vibration that is “in tune” with one or more chakras. By using crystals, it is possible to ‘balance’ the chakras.
