Hearts & Butterflies Redwork-Easy Machine Trapunto

If you like the effect of trapunto, but dread the laborious process, there is an easy way to do it with your embroidery machine. This set of designs has 10 hearts & butterfly redwork designs, and will be supplied in 3 sizes for you, with complete instructions on getting the trapunto effect. The smallest design is 4x4, and there is a set supplied for 5x7 hoop and for mega hoop. I did a dainty border in cross stitch, and changed color so that you can use that border or stop the design at that point and use any of the decorative built in borders your embroidery machine has, for variation. I have included pictures below of some squares I made. I tried various pastels, as well as tone on tone, which has a marvelous effect.  I consider tone on tone embroidery to be very elegant. These designs stitch up quickly and are esesntially continuous line stitching with few trims except candlewick dots, etc.

• Make your own 3D Valentines. Most machines will sew through cardstock without difficulty.

• Table runner, tablecloths, napkins, placemats, wall hangings

• Embellishment for guest towels or bath towel sets (be sure to use water soluble stabilizer)

• Embellishment for a favorite t-shirt. I stitch the design on weaver's cloth, tack it to the shirt leaving a small margin loose, which will fray for a nice edge. Another variation is to tack it down using a blanket stitch.
