Heavy Duty Stainless Steel heat hardend gaff hooks

I'm a long time rod builder and I'm kind of cleaning out the closets ..

This listing is for heavy duty gaff hooks we had manufactured for our use.  I didn't like any of the little light weight hooks i found for gaffs .. so i had these built. 

These are a needle point, 3/8 inch shank heat hardened, stainless steel pick gaff hook. The pick gaff hook and the gaff hook without the pick were going to cost me the same amount so i went with the pick hook .. the pick is the little barb at the bottom of the shank of the hook .. for those that haven't seem them ... you just put the barb into a piece of wood .. like a shovel handle .. either wrap or put a clamp around the hook and handle a little farther down toward the bottom of the handle and "presto" .. you have a very heavy duty pick gaff.  

The 3/8 inch diameter of the shank will fit into the opening of the gaff handles we had manufactured ..just remove the pick barb .. clean the shank with a grinder ... put it into the gaff handle .. I use some graphite material and epoxy .. and pin the gaff into the handle .. These gaff hook are hard as they can be .. Be prepared .. they are very tough to drill .. slotting the shank may be easier if you don't have a drill press.

You can use either foam or a shrink wrap for the gaff handles ..

the hooks in this ad are 2 1/2 inches or 3 inches .. your choice .. the hooks are measured from the shank to the tip of the hook.
