Up for auction is VERY RARE original Heinrich Hoffmann "Verlag Nationalsozialistischer Bilder Sortimentskatalog" (Heinrich Hoffmann National Socialist Picture Publishers Full-Line Catalog). As all who deal with this subject know, Heinrich Hoffmann was Hitler's good friend and personal photographer, the man who hosted an early NSDAP office on Schellingstrasse in München (Munich), and the man who introduced Hitler to his future wife, Eva Braun. I can't find a date in the catalog, but I've seen a nearly identical version listed on the internet as being published in 1938. The catalog consists of 36 heavily illustrated 9 5/8" x 12 5/8" pages bound in grey-green parchment-look soft covers. The catalog offers all sorts of prints, photos, postcards, books, and other items associated with Hitler, prominent Nazi leaders, and the Nazi Party. It also offers a fine selection of Hoffmann's photographic books, loose-leaf folios of Hitler’s paintings, documents, sketches, and other items. The first 8 pages are in full color. Hoffmann catalogs are extremely difficult to find and an important reference document for anyone who collects Third Reich art, prints, photographs, and postcards. I purchased this copy at an estate sale last week. It's guaranteed to be an original WWII-era catalog and not a reprint. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT A PROPOGANDA DOCUMENT AND IS IN FULL COMPLIANCE WITH E-BAY POLICY.
Condition of this catalog is FAIR. It has a prominent vertical crease in the middle, as if it was folded. The cover shows a lot of wear and is starting to seperate from the spine. I see some pencil markings (and a few pen markings) on the cover and some of the inside pages. They are primarily notations of price changes. I'm guessing that this catalog was used by a salesperson. Several images on page 2 have some surface damage because a decal was lightly attached to it (which I removed). Page 17/18 has 2 images missing (cut out). Other than these missing images, the catalog is complete. I t's a little rough, but still a very valuable reference document. It would make a fine addition to any militaria collection. Please take a close look at the many photos I've provided and judge condition for yourself. I think you'll be very pleased.
If you collect WWII items, particularly Nazi Party historical documents, don't miss your opportunity to bid on this catalog. Heinrich Hoffmann catalogs are almost impossible to find, especially the color versions. You may never see another. My start price of only $9.99 (WITH NO RESERVE) is a ridiculous bargain and intended to spark interest. So bid now while the price is right and check back often. This catalog WILL be sold to the highest bidder!
