Pictured is premiere British Actress 'Helen Mirren' playing 'Caesonia', the third wife of the perverse Roman Emperor ~

The film shows the violent methods the Emperor employed to gain the throne, & the subsequent insanity of his reign.
Caligula makes his horse a Senator, humiliating the political office & executes anyone who even slightly displeases him.
His unholy sexual passion for his sister, elaborate orgies & his fruitless invasion of England. In the end he goes completely
mad after Caesonia gives him a love potion
