When every ounce counts, the 3 lb. 4 oz. Explorer Deluxe Asym is a winner, replacing heftier tents and eliminating the need for bulky sleeping pads. The tree-covered, sloping terrain of the trail is perfect for hammock use. Many hikers prefer "sleeping out" in their Hennessy to a night in the trail-side shelters which are sometimes crowded and noisy. The tree hugger straps protect trees from rope burns and, unlike a tent, the tree does not leave a footprint on the ground and no leveling or trenching is needed.

The Explorer is the missing link between the 9 ft. Expedition / Backpacker models and the huge 11 ft. long Safari models. This new model provides a new dimension in comfort without the weight penalty of the bigger Safari.

The Explorer Deluxe is for those who are over 6 ft, or between 250 to 300 lbs.
