We make every effort to ship expeditiously but due to the volume of our shipping department we require up to 5 days before we ship your item. This time is especially needed when delicate or large items are shipped. Our handling fee that is included in our shipping cost is there to defray the expenses of having a shipping department. For instance, we have to supply the popcorn, the bubble wrap, the boxes, wrapping paper, etc., and we also employ professional packers.

The shipping calculator factors in a handling charge on all items. Packing doesn't appreciably add to the weight of an item but it DOES add to the size of the package being shipped and THAT will change the cost. If you want to bid on an item that has $20 S&H and you have budgeted $50 then only bid $30. Your fellow ebayer has the same advantage or disadvantage as you.
