Herbertsmithite: RARE RARE RARE and more!

A most unusual offering in every respect.  Entered as both a thumbnail and a micromount. It's packaged and displayed as the former, but best appreciated under the scope. A halide mineral of copper and zinc, which is also known as anarkite, closely resembles para-atacamite, it's from the San Francisco Mine, Caracoles, Tocopilla, Peru,  measures 2.8 cm., and next to impossible to obtain on the market. It is highly suggested that before buying, any prospective purchaser do as I did and run a web search for "herbertsmithite matter." The intrigue seems to begin at MIT, where studies make a strong case for herbertsmithite being a "new state of matter known as a string-net liquid." There's no danger here, it's all about owning a rare and pretty mineral that could in itself be a definitive statement about the nature of the universe.
