History

Hermès is a producer of classic luxury goods.  It is the world’s leading producer of fine leather goods with fans all over the world. The timepieces which can be easily classified by its H-shaped unique style reflect Hermes’ high craftsmanship resulting in the exclusive design.Hermes has gained worldwide reputation for its luxurious leather goods and apparel since 1837. They never got involved in watches until 1920s when they were designing watch straps for many famous watch making companies. 

It was in 1975 that they created their own watch known as Kelly watch. This was designed with inspiration from its then famous Kelly handbags. It was in 1978 that Jean-Louis Dumas-Hermes who started re-organizing the company and incorporated its own watch making workshops in La Montre Hermes SA.  From then on Hermes launched their collections of watches from 1980s onwards.  This watch making factory gave rise to an entire collection of Hermès watches that embody the spirit and style of the brand.

Over the decades, Hermès has unveiled a variety of important watch collections, including the Clipper Cape Cod, Espace and H-Our signature watch line. In 1999, the brand inaugurated its new state-of-the-art workshops in Bienne. Two years later, the Nomade collection of auto quartz watches made its debut in 2001.

Specification

The Men’s Chronograph Nomade is auto quartz that does not use any battery and relies solely on quartz with rotor technology and uses an ETA caliber with 45 days power reserve.

The watch employs an environmentally friendly mechanism, completely eliminating the need for a battery. Its auto quartz movement means a marriage between high precision quartz and rotor technology to create an energy accumulator for the power reserve mechanism. By wearing the watch regularly, the natural movements of your wrist continuously power the auto quartz movement, like an automatic watch. This energy is converted into electrical energy which is stored in an accumulator and powers the watch's movement.

 Its water resistance is up to 50m and uses an anti-reflective sapphire crystal.

The chronograph function has three counters: small second at 3, 30-minute at 9, and hour sub dial at 6. It comes in both black dial and silver dial with baton markers.
