The 2 source films could'nt be more different. One looks to be made in the 20's featuring an overview of the plant. The film then goes to a negative for a few seconds and turns into a positive, and a man standing next to a car. We're startled for a second, thinking we're still in the 1920's footage, but actually, this was made in the late 50's it looks like, a man with crutches unveils a plaque that tells the plant is the birthplace of the Model T. After that, there's nothing to do except to tear it down. And to hammer the point down, we get four different angles of the smoke stack coming down. Sort of bizarre. Woohoo!! General Motors just made its 50 MILLIONTH CAR!! I mean, isn't that EXCITING??? GM sure thinks so. It makes a golden Chevrolet, trucks in a lot of bigwigs on a golden train for a really big shew, and hosts a parade for the citizens of Flint, Michigan, and everybody else as well, since they made a film of it. The speech by the old corporate guy is boring, but the parade is loads of fun, featuring tacky floats by the dozens, some hideously-mutated human sparkplugs, and a brief sighting of the thoroughly evil Sludgy (Bucky Beaver Warning plus a cool cartoon 7 minutes.. in my merry oldsmobile
