Here is a very unique Hindu Ceremonial or Execution Ax. This Ax is elaborately incised with a floral motif on the blade and surrounds bronze cartouche on each side. One side shows an Avatar of Vishnu striking another Avatar. On the flip side it bears a young man leading a ca-prisoned horse. This weapon is all original patina the handle as well. On the handle you will see that it is mounted to the blade with rose head rivets. This piece is probably southern India or Ceylon and dates to the early 1800's. The Ax measures 34 1/4" long and the blade is 13 3/4" across. We have taken allot of pictures so be sure to veiw them. This is a rare find you won't want to miss._5
