Product Information: Each plant was selected for its dwarf and miniature characteristics. Plants were asexually propagated either by sticking cuttings or by grafting the desired scion onto a rootstock. Your plants, if just purchased, can be 1 to 4 years old depending on the variety of plant.
All plants have been planted in a professional soil mix from Pro Gro of Wilsonville, Oregon. The mixture has been designed for a container grown plant. The artificial soil is made of bark, peat, pumice, and crab meal. Soil amendments have been added for micro and macro - nutrients. Apex time release fertilizer has also been incorporated in the soil. This is a product of Purcell Technologies of Alabama. This fertilizer takes care of the plants nutritional needs for 16 months. Some other beneficial ingredients incorporated in the soil mix are Actino- Iron and Actinovate . These two products are from the University of Idaho. They are a natural occurring biological fungicides that colonizes in your soil mix. Their purpose is for better root formation of your plant. This improves utilization of the fertilizer, and helps water retention.
On top of the soil and under the granite grit is a weed mat. This weed mat is manufactured in Canada by Geo-disc. Thanks to this new innovative product we no longer use herbicides on your plants. An added side effect is a 20% retention of water from less media water evaporation.
Each plant was sold to you with a tag. This tag gives you historical information as well as color, shape, growth rate, sun requirements, USDA Zone, and where to go to belong to the American Conifer Society. For future reference you should keep this tag in a safe place. | | Click on the Shipping Calculator to the left to determine your shipping costs.
