Hoover Ball Bearing Electric Motor 1/2 HP 1725 RPM

Here is a used Hoover electric motor in excellent working condition. This was part of a large quantity of industrial surplus purchased by a friend and we are selling this for him on consignment. Tag is marked “HOOVER A.C. MOTOR, TO B.S. 170, MADE IN SCOTLAND, TYPE 7044H.B.F15327, SER. NO. 82282WO, INSUL. CLASS A, RATING CONT, WDG. CAP ST, CYCLES 60, AMPS. 5/3.75, VOLTS 110/220, H.P. 1/2, PH. 1, R.P.M. 1725, PATENTS PENDING, HOOVER LIMITED, GREAT BRITAIN” It is a vented motor, not enclosed or explosion proof. By taking off the wire connection cover, it looks like it was originally painted Battleship Grey but had been repainted with red, then silver. This is a precision motor that is clean and runs quiet (ball bearings with grease fittings). It is wired for counter clockwise rotation on 110VAC and has a very short (6”) grounded power cord. Starting capacitor is built into it's own enclosure on the side. Shaft is 1-3/8” long x 5/8” diameter with a 3/16” key way. It will come with a finely machined aluminum, double V belt pulley; takes 3/16” belts, outside diameters of the pulleys are 2-1/4” and 2-3/4”. The motor's case is attached to a mounting bracket by 1/4” bolts in a 1-13/16” x 3-1/2”, center to center pattern. The mounting bracket will bolt to a frame in a 3-7/8” x (4-5/8” to 5-3/4”), center to center pattern. Overall, measures about 11” long x 8-1/2” wide x 6-1/4” tall. 31#, 10 oz actual weight; 37# estimated weight in a 14x13x11 box.
