This is a listing for 7 foot long 30-80 lb Hopper Estfin rod, custom built by BaR BaR Tackle .. This is a pretty new blank for us ..I took a couple of rods built with these blanks to Alaska a few weeks ago to test out. Believe me that is a great testing ground for rods. I found them to have very good action action, good balance and they were nice and light weight. I was impressed. Nice blank. We are looking foreward to expanding the styles and number of these rods we will be building in the next few months. Over the past several years, the fishing reel manufactures have made awesome improvements in the spinning reels that are now being manufactured, they now have the capacity to hold 500 to 1000 yards of braided line and they have the ability to produce amazing amounts of drag .. What we have not seen are spinning rods built to use with these reels .... HERE YOU GO This rod starts with a new rubber/mushroom style butt cap that has groves cut for use on a fighting belt ... the best of both worlds ... easier on your stomach if you don't put it in a belt .. The rear grip on this rod is a material called sharkskin. I like it because it is little smaller in diameter then most rear EVA foam grips, and on this smaller diameter blank it is the perfect choice. This style butt makes it easier to hold for long periods of time, if you are using this rod to jig with this smaller diameter fits very well under you arm. It is very durable, it wont get slick when it gets wet and if you want a little more texture it is tough enough you can take a large grit stand paper and rough up the surface a little. I build this grip with a diamond pattern under the sharkskin to enhance the grip. It is 10 inches in length which is ideal to cast with, this is the same length as most stand up rod butts .. so when you put it in a fighting belt .. you will be right at home with the length The reel seat is the Fuji heavy duty, saltwater graphite ... This is the same reel seat used for boat rods .. so it is more then strong enough for spinnng rod applications. The fore grip is a triangular shaped grip we have manufactured for us. I had these grips molded to my specifications. It has great transition form the reel seat and to blank. We had it tapered so it is easy to hold for long periods of them .. you can always find a spot on a tapered blank that is comfortable. On a tuna trip a few years ago, everyone who caught tuna on spinners were in total agreement, they all thought we should try some tuna spinner with a triangular fore grip. .. So we tried it out .. and now all of our bigger spinning rods come standard with the triangular foregrip.. they work grat. When you are 45 minutes into fighting a 150 lb YFT on this spinning rod, and he rips off a couple hundred yards of line ... it's OK if you'd like to drop me a thank you note for the triangular fore grip when you get back ...... The 8 guides plus the tip are from Fuji, they are the SiC guides. These guides are extremely hard, smooth and dissipate heat well. They are very corrosive resistant and made for the super braided lines ... They are gun smoke in color, one of very best guides Fuji manufactures ..... Each guide is under wrapped to insure no guide to blank contact, then each guide is attached with 4 layers of C sized thread for maximum strength, This rod is wrapped in black and trimmed in Silver metallic thread... I have the sample rod in stock. Additional rods should be able to be built and shipped in around 10-14 days. Note .. Here is the deal. We offer so many options with our rods at the same price, including but not limited to, a choice of rear grips, gimbals, reel seats, fore grips, colors and wraps. It is simply impossible for us to stock all the rods we offer at any one time .. we try to replace the samples as they are purchased ...but we do not always have every rod in stock. If you are in a hurry for a rod, please contact us to see what we have in the way of stock. Most rods can be crafted and shipped in around 10-14 days ... in some cases rods can be built and shipped over a weekend, depending on our work load, and the availability of components and blanks. This rod is crafted right here in the USA by BaR-BaR Tackle, special orders are always welcome. If you are the winning bidder of this rod we will place your name one it at no additional charge.
