On April 23, 1976, the USPS issued two stamps to honor twomusical instruments - the Saxhorn and the Drums. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp for the Saxhorn, invented by Adolphe Sax around 1855, cancelled from the city of issue (New York, NY), on the first day ofissue captioned above.
The color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features three saxhorns and a drum.
