This rare antique sleigh, of graceful design, is in excellent original condition. It has all of it's original hardware, paint (red paint on runners, rails, shaft and pole is well worn) and upholstery; note the weighted door pockets, whip socket and the original decal located on the lower center back of sleigh. It's structure is very sturdy and dryrot has not been found. I was told, but cannot guarantee, that it was manufactured in mid to late 1800's (I would suggest the Carriage Association of America as a resource for researching the circa). I purchased it at a local farm auction two years ago to save it from becoming winter lawn ornament. However, I do not have room for it anymore and an not a sleigh whip. Included is a lovely old hand hooked rug or blanket on the floor of the sleigh. Comes with shaft and pole. Seat lifts for storage. Will give name and address of the elderly gentleman to who this sleigh was his pride and joy, to the purchaser for the sake of the antique history. Kept inside, up off of ground. A rare gem. FYI: the starting price is the cost I paid to save this item. If you are serious, please feel free to inquire.
