Sheffield Series Luxury Chess set.
This heirloom-quality Chess set features a 4.4" King with a
2.0" diameter base and is heavily weighted. The Chess pieces are hand carved by our master artisans and crafted out of
the highest grade Boxwood and Blood Rosewood. The Chess pieces are heavily weighted with gold
embossed English Leather base pads under the Kings, luxurious
billiard cloth base pads on the other Chess pieces and a rich French Polish finish.
The design of the Sheffield Series Luxury Chess set is unparalleled in both its
original styling and exquisite attention to detail. Mere words can not do this

The Chessmen are new and each set consists of 34 Chessmen, including four
Queens, a standard that was introduced by The
House of Staunton over 10 years ago. The Kings come
with 4 different finials (crosses) each, including the traditional western
cross as well as the exquisite crown finial, another House oF Staunton original
design.
The Chess Set comes with a personalized Certificate of Authenticity and a
paper
original manufacturer's label indicating the production number, with an adhesive
backing that would allow it to be affixed to the underside of a Chess box.
The chessmen are brand new and come housed in a cardboard box.

These Chessmen are crafted from premium Boxwood
and Blood Rosewood. Blood
Rosewood is
a very rare and expensive hardwood that has a very striking appearance. It is
red/burgundy in color that will darken over time and eventually have the color
of a dark red wine. For more than 4,000 years, Blood Rosewood has been widely
regarded as a sacred wood by Asian cultures and is treasured for its aromatic
and medicinal properties.
