How to sell used laptop computers on ebay : buy a “lot” of computers, fix them and then sell them one by one. You can buy all parts you need on Ebay. Normally computers that are sold in groups , do not have a power supply, or a hard drive. Hard drives are cheap here on ebay, so are memory chips for upgrades, but you have to do some research, I can help , but power supplies are expensive. If you buy a lap top new or used, always make sure a power supply comes with it. A power supply is worth as much as the computer. Always assume all batteries are dead, no matter what they say, batteries may hold a charge, but not for any useful length of time. This is free information, but there are allot of other pit falls to buying used laptops, but these are all problems that I can solve , easily by e-mail. Anyway it is worth the gamble.Used laptops can be sold at swap meets for $100 cash. They are always is short supply, and if you offer guarantees, you have an easy sale.These same laptops can be sold on ebay. If you buy a power supply for a certain model that you want to specialize in, then you can  buy computers that are sold “as is”, which may have problems with them or not. Large clearinghouses that sell used laptops that they buy in bulk, normally have a technician check out the computers to see if they work , cause they can get more money for them. But sometimes they do not feel like checking them, because they do not feel like it or because it takes to much time for the price. Allot times it is just because they do not have a power supply. There is nothing wrong with used computers. There are problems like all the batteries are bad, or even a new battery will be dead in two years, but these are problems that we can handle.

It costs more money to ship a used laptop than what you can buy it for. I can say the same about desk top computers.

I can also say to buy desk top computers if for any reason, but to use them as servers. So , why are servers so important ? Well for one reason , if you run a server farm, people will pay you to host their websites, of course you will want low traffic customers, but more important is the concept that you can run or power your servers with wind or solar power. This is an advanced application, because making electricity is easy, it is storing it or finding a use for it that is hard.

If you have a server, you can be your own broadcaster. It is like owning your own TV or radio station. You can make money the way that they do , by selling advertising and web space on popular web sites.
