HOW TO GROW SILKWORMS

Get 5 Wonderful Books on One CD

.

1. Complete Instructions in Rearing Silkworms: Also How To Build And Furnish Cocooneries; How To Plant Prune And Care For Mulberry Trees. Written in 1902 by Carrie Willimas and has over 140 pages. From the contents page below, you can see that this book is a comprehensive treatise on growing silkworms and progresses step-by-step through every aspect necessary to rear these amazing creatures.

2. The Culture of Silk  written by the Rev Samuel Pullein and published in 1758 - over 300 pages in length. The book is in four parts:
    1. On the raising and planting of Mulberry Trees.
    2. On hatching and rearing the SlLK-WoRMS.
3 On obtaining their Silk and Breed.
    4. On reeling their Silk-Pods.

3. California Silk Growers Manual written in 1867 by Louis Prevost and has over 240 pages. "Having been frequently solicited, by the friends of the silk cause, to
publish the results of my experience and observation on silk-growing in this State, I have concluded to do so; that all may be benefited by it, as most of the works already published on the subject are mere compilations from foreign authors, made up of details not at all applicable to what I shall term our California Silk Culture, for such
must be the system by which we shall succeed in raising the raw silk, which is bound to be the greatest staple of our State, and by which we shall induce our farmers to turn their attention to its extensive cultivation, as they need pay no further attention to the frequent croakings of short-sighted persons about the high price of labor."

4. Sillk and The Silk Worm written by CH Rossiter and published in 1881 - 15 pages in length. "I offer this book of instruction, which meets all these difficulties, at a price placing it within the reach of all. I do not wish it understood that I claim the instructions to be entirely original with myself—but I do claim, that from personal experience, and information I have gained from the best authorities on this subject, my instructions, if followed, will enable anyone to raise silk successfully."

5. Manual: Containing Directions for Sowing, Transplanting and raising of The Mulberry Tree,  Written in 1835 by Edward Roberts and is 65 pages in length. "In the third number of the present volume of the Farmer and Gardener, the editor announced his intention of compiling a Silk Manual. Since that time he has devoted much of his leisure moments in reading such of the various authors who have written upon the subject, which were accessible to him, and gleaning from them such things as appeared to him to be necessary to be.known by persons desirious of entering into the silk culture..."
