This is a 2 CD set commemorating Hryhory Kytasty’s birth (1907-1984).  Widely known as a composer and long-time conductor of the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus, he was also a mentor and inspiration to virtually all performing bandurists alive today in Canada and the US.

The 2nd Bandura-Kobzar performance competition in the name of Hryhory Kytasty took place in Kyiv  in December of 2006.

These are the best and all of his solo recordings from concerts and studios.  Some pieces have never been heard before.   Бандура в руках Григорія Китастого is truly a collector’s item and a must hear for anybody who loves the bandura.
