An exceptionally beautiful and large serving piece marked, "HB" and "Quimper" and "France." This 3-part server has a figural center handle - a Breton fisherman struggling with his huge blue catch! The piece measures 13 inches in diameter and stands 7.5 inches tall. The serving bowl sections are ribbed and shaped as shells -- soleil yellow with navy blue sponged trim around all the edges. Each shallow "bowl" has a different decoration -- a petit Breton in one; a petit Bretonne in another, and a spray of colorful flowers in the third.
The faint HB Quimper mark dates this item to between 1964 and 1984. Excellent condition - no cracks or repairs, just a small glaze nick to the rim of the "bowl" with the Bretonne (see closeup photo) -- not too inconspicuous. There's also a very faint line on the bottom of the piece -- it's about 1.5 inches long and almost invisible and not at all structurally compromising.
