Mint condition CD from Sancuary Records - 2002. Too bad Steve Marriott died! is the thirteenth studio album by Humble Pie[1]. Jerry Shirley re-formed Humble Pie[2] in 2001 with a line up including their original bassist Greg Ridley, former Humble Pie guitarist and vocalist Bobby Tench, and rhythm guitarist Dave "Bucket" Colwell who had played with Bad Company and wrote or co-wrote seven of the ten tracks on this album. Back on track was released by Sanctuary in UK and Europe, on February 19th 2002.[3] Keyboard players Zoot Money and Victor Martin were brought in for the Back on Track recording sessions. The album was recorded at Jacobs Studios[4], and Astoria Studios[5], with special thanks given to David Gilmour[6]. The album and band lineup had many of the elements which had contributed to Humble Pie's musical chemistry, with two of the original sidemen to Steve Marriott, Jerry Shirley and Greg Ridley and an established well respected former member, Bobby Tench[7]. A brief tour of UK followed and then Germany, with Company of Snakes and the response to the live shows was encouraging, but Greg Ridley fell ill late in 2002[8] and the band split up. Once again the sales of a Humble Pie album were restricted due the lack of a promotional tour[9] Great listening!
