Thirds (3rds) Definition

Thirds means there is some sort of imperfection that does not meet the manufacturer's quality standards so they are not considered First Quality and are sold usually at a discount from full retail price. Imperfections include, but are not limited to: Scuff marks, a logo slightly off, a discoloration of fabric or material. The difference between seconds and thirds is the severity of the imperfections. Blooming Definition

Every Hunter wellington boot is made from 100% natural ingredients and small amounts of wax are included in the rubber compound during the vulcanisation process that is used to make each pair. When exposed to certain environmental factors, this wax can "bloom" to the surface and appear as white or blue marks. This is a completely natural process and the imperfection is only cosmetic. The boots remain 100% waterproof. Most of our 2nds have visible blooming.
