Our Stainless Steel, being an extremely hard metal by nature, is NOT heat treated to help prevent the rod from breaking. When a tie rod reaches the point of failure, we prefer they bend not break, don't you? Computerized stress analysis proves that the failure point between heat-treated and non-heat treated 304 Stainless Steel is insignificant. The heat-treated material, as used by some of our competitors, has more of a tendency to break at that point instead of bend. Not good
