Greetings from Ike City! (Actually, I'm in Bozeman, Montana.) I really didn't expect to sell my rolls of Ikes. Know why? Because several of these rolls were original rolls that I took out of the paper and put into plastic! (I know, I know, don't hate me for it.) Anyhow, here's the rundown of rolls. 71-P, 71-D, 72-P, 72-D, 73-P, 73-D (2 rolls, both orig rolls), 74-P, 74-D, 76-P TYII (2 rolls: 1 orig roll, 1 not), 76-D TYII (2 rolls: 1 orig roll, 1 not), 77-D, 78-P (orig roll), 78-D, and the last roll is mixed. THAT's 17 BU ROLLS! CONDITION : I am NOT a coin expert but I have collected coins for decades. (I know what you're thinking - I may have collected for decades and still don't know squat! Laugh. Laugh.) Seriously now, in my opinion, overall, this mini-collection is above average. A few of these rolls are in absolutely great shape! The 73-D original roll is a gem roll as far as I'm concerned. There are not any rolls that are poor, where the coins look like they've been used to put underneath a table leg so the table won't wobble. If you know anything about ikes you know they're not well known for strong strikes. Just the opposite in fact. But I think you will be pleased with this group. Just think, in 13 days or less these could be in your hands.... On Nov-04-09 at 11:35:10 PST, seller added the following information:
After a couple of inquiries I decided to investigate/evaluate these rolls a little further. I’m sorry I don’t have additional pictures but I don’t have an up-close lens to get the detail needed for on-line evaluation For those that just can’t stand the details, here’s the summary: Overall, MY OPINION has not changed from the description I originally used to describe the lot. Admittedly, while I did find some disappointments, my overall impression is the same. I did find a couple rolls with the suspicious slider candidate. A few rolls had more coins with more contact marks and/or some toning than I’d like -- and that’s why I graded them as fair. One person asked if all these coins could go into BU albums, essentially making 20 nearly complete albums. I will not guarantee that. Maybe 18 BU albums. I’m hedging because of my comments above and the fact I don’t know professional grading. If you’re looking for diamonds, the 73-D rolls are it. Combining them, you could come up with 20 coins grading MS-64 and above. Again, my opinion. The 73-P and 78-D rolls were next in line. Easily above average.
71-P Fair, 71-D Good, 72-P Fair+ --- two coins w/some toning. P mint coins.
72-D Fair, 73-P EXCELLENT, 73-D (Original) EXCELLENT, 73-D (Original) GBU 2 coins could be MS-62. One or two MS-63, the rest are MS-64 or higher! 74- Fair+, 74-D Good- , 76-P (2) both fair, 76-D (2) both good, 77-D Fair, 78P Fair+, 78D almost excellent.
Mixed Roll Fair- --- easily the worst roll of the lot. A few w/contact scratches, one with machine scratches. Some sliders. AU suspects. |
