I'll Be Home for Christmas

As Christmas approaches, World II rages in Europe.  The close-knit Bundy family gathers in anticipation of a son's return home on holiday furlough.  Life in this small New England town goes on, despite the constant reminders of wartime - ration coupons, shortages, young men in service uniforms.

In a warm moving story, I'll Be Home for Christmas draws an intimate portrait of the family members as tragedy overtakes their holiday expectations.  Joseph's fatherly pride in eldest son Mike's heroism doesn't extend to the younger Terrell, also in the service.  But Martha's concerned for the safety of all her children, including Leah, working the swing shift in a defense plant and Davey, the youngest, to whom the war is foreign and exciting.  Together, the Bundy's learn to cope with the loss of one son, prepare to send another overseas, and feel the warm spirit of renewal as they welcome a newborn during a very special Christmas.
