This is a very nice richly colored COBALT BLUE glass biscuit jar (?).I took several photos in the air to show the design making it look less deep in color, however, this is very deep cobalt. There is raised birdcage design on the glass as well as raised design of birds within the cage.I see a small bubble or two in the glass, which I tried to show in the photos as well as one other straw mark (?) on one imaginary cage line but it is very small. If you run your finger around the inside rim of the jar, you can feel a slight amount of roughness on a few places probably from putting the lid on and off, but you don’t see anything with the naked eye. There is a little swirl straw mark (?) on the top knob on one side.Although the imperfections (during the manufacturing process) in the glass are minute, I want to mention for accuracy. The jar is in great condition and well cared for.It is clearly marked with the capital “G” superimposed over a stylized “I”.I believe that mark indicated the date this piece was made to be about 1951-1972; however I am not positive. If any of you have any other information on the piece, please let me know and I will gladly add this also. The approximate measurements are 5 ¾ inches high x 5 ¾ inches across the base of the lid.
