This press is an excellent and cost effective way to introduce yourself or someone else to the fine art of cheese making.  If the hobby catches on, there are always more expensive presses available by other crafters.

Up for auction is an affordable Cheese Press that is designed for 1 Gallon batches . Also included is an instruction and recipe pamphlet.  The PVC Hoop is 4" diameter by 6" tall . Makes a nice 4" wheel of cheese. The base and cross bar are made of solid maple, and the follower is STAINLESS STEEL material (I replaced all poly discs as they are prone to splitting during use).  All parts are coated with mineral oil to keep conditions sanitary.  The pressure is applied and maintained by turning the handle snuggly during the start of the cheese making process. I am often asked about pressure settings... the answer is to "keep it simple" with this press.  You will know when enough pressure is applied because you'll see the whey start to drain.  You can apply more or less pressure the second time around depending on your preference of cheese firmness.  PLEASE... check my feedback, these presses work great!
