Freezing temps will kill the embryos 
Too hot left on your doorstep, may also kill the embryo
Which means if too hot or too cold...[ actually best any time] you can call your local post office
and tell them you are expecting EGGS and ask them to call you to personally pick them up. 
This can prevent exposure to the heat or cold weather.
