This is a BRAND NEW High Speed CLUTCH MOTOR for industrial sewing machines.

The motor is  1/2 H.P.    400 Watts    Single Phase    110 Volts    3450 R.P.M.

This High Speed Clutch Motor comes complete with a wire harness and push button ON-OFF switch. Just bolt it onto your table using the included table bolts.

This motor is High Speed (3450 RPM) so it is used on Single Needle or Overlock Machines. It is NOT recommended for Walking Foot, Double Needle, or Blindstitch machines which should have LOW SPEED motors (1725 R.P.M.)

Unfortunately many sewing machine dealers use High Speed motors on Walking Foot Machines. This is just NOT a good way to go! It forces the dealer to put a very small pulley on the motor to slow it down so the surface area of contact between the V Belt and the pulley is very small. This makes the machine hard to control and very difficult to run SLOWLY.

Many sewing factories and sewing machine dealers offer for sale industrial sewing machines with 220 Volt motors. This clutch motor assembly complete with wire harness will allow you to convert a 220 volt stand to regular 110 volt power!

The motor has a built in switch to easily change the rotation of the pulley. Walking Foot machines run in the opposite direction of Overlock and Blindstitch machines.

The center Bolt & Nut assembly allows for precise up & down positioning of the motor for perfect belt tension.

This highest quality Clutch Motor uses standard #6203DS bearings that replace easily so that this motor will give you many years of service.

There are many different Quality Levels for this type of Clutch Motor. You may find a very low priced motor that seems like a good value. But be careful! The most important quality related aspect of a clutch motor is the COPPER WIRE WINDINGS. These windings must be completely and uniformly coated with insulation or the windings will short out or overheat. This will result in a loss of power or complete failure. And it will almost always happen on a very hot day! The problem for the buyer is that it is impossible to tell with a visual inspection what kind of copper winding job the motor factory did.
