It is powered by a built in motor that has a lot of torque.  The motor is controlled with an electronic foot controller to insure a high degree of precision to control the speed of the machine.  It has a built-in light controlled by a switch that also controls the motor.

All the mechanical parts on this machine are made of metal.  The oscillating hook(semi-rotating) is driven by metal gears to insure power,  reliability and efficiency.  This machine is built to last a long time and has a lot of power.

With this machine you will be able to sew on thicker materials such as denim, canvas, security belt, sheepskin, tarps, sunbrella, sailcloth, soft leather and more.  Of course it will take care easily of the regular materials such as cotton, silk, chiffon and polyester.  I have personnally tested this machine on the following samples which include soft leather, jeans and cotton and polyester.

*Please note that it will not sew horse saddle, knife sheaths or any kind of super heavy leather.  For this you need an industrial machine.  Also note that it WILL NOT sew on anything that is more than a 1/4".

Many stitches and functions

There are many different stitches and functions on this machine.  These stitches are the very basic stitches required for sewing such as the blind stitch, the sewn zig-zag and the overlock stitch and also there is the stretch straight stitch to allow yourself to sew on extensible materials.  Of course it does the good old zig-zag and straight stitch.  The pictures below are samples including the different stitches and functions of this machine.

Make buttonholes easily using the 3 step buttonholer!

With the 3 step buttonholer, you will be able to easily make buttonholes.  Simply start by replacing the original pressure foot with the buttonholer foot and adjust it to the size of the buttonhole.  Now select the first image of a buttonhole with the stitch selector so that it make the left side first, select the second image to make the bottom side, select the third image to make the right side and select again the second step to make the top side.  It is really that easy.

How to sew a zipper!

It is a really useful feature of this machine.  You can sew on any kind of zipper with this machine.  You only have to put the zipper foot and use a straight stitch.  Place the zipper between the material and the zipper foot and do the first side.  Then you have to change the side of the zipper.  Just unlock it and put it on the other side(very easy to understand when you are in front of the machine).  Then you only have to do the other side the same way as the first side and you are done with your zipper!

Using the overlock stitch: Almost like a real overlock!

This is really an interesting feature of this machine.  Many people decide to buy an overlock machine that usually cost over 300$.  With this Euro-Pro machine you can have a similar result using the overlock stitch and the blind stitch foot.   First you need to have 2 pieces of fabric that are not assembled together, that is why we use an overlock to put them together.  But it can also be useful to simply make pants hemming also.  So put the two pieces together, then put the blind stitch foot and select the overlock stitch.  Now you have to adjust your blind stitch foot using the screw to make a perfect overlock stitch. 

Now start with electricity and try to sew really on the edge of the materiel.  Go slowly first and you can go a little faster once you feel comfortable.  And now it is done, on the left image below you can see the side of the material that I have sewn on.  Lets say this is a T-Shirt, this is the inside of the T-shirt.  The right picture below represent the outside of the T-shirt.  As you can see, on the apparent side we don't even see the thread and I used a yellow thread on a green material so that you can see the operation.  Usually we use a thread that is the same color of the material.  It is as strong as a real overlock however it does not cut the material like an overlock would do.  You have to cut the material before doing the overlock.  Really amazing!

You can sew with the double needle!

A double needle will fit on this machine if you have to make two parallel stitches.  You can make either straigth stitch or half size of the zig-zag stitch. But you cannot make a wider zig-zag or any other stitch because you will break the needle.  To use the double needle simply install a double needle on the machine the same way you would install a single needle(double needle is not included with the auction).  Then put a second bobbin of thread on top and thread the machine the same way you would thread it normally.  Now you are ready to make a double needle stitch!

Make invisible hems easily using the blind stitch and the blind stitch pressure foot.
