IN EXCELLENT CONDITION  Industrial Strength Singer Model 362 Straight Stitch (with reverse feed) Sewing Machine with Walking Foot attachment, serial number: M1548525 built in 1972. 300 Series: Low Shank Attachments, Rotary Hook, Class 66 Bobbin, 15x1 Needles. Very nice, Singer steel workhorse, it features a full steel chassis, along with Singers famous cogged belt driven rotary hook system with steel gears just like the big industrial machines. Machine shows well with less than average wear and tear for a machine from this era (Very, very nice 362. You will be amazed at how clean this vintage machine is.), and really lives up to Singer's legendary reputaion for sewing excellence. Not bad at all for 30+ years of sewing. Comes with Walking Foot attachment that allows sewing of multiple or dense layers with perfect allignment. Best of all, being a classic Singer, Needles, Bobbins, and Accessories for this machine are available anywhere, even your nearest Walmart. Runs smooth and penetrates dense material with ease. Machine has been cleaned and oiled with Authentic Singer Machine Lube and has had the timing checked and is perfect. This baby even has a built in Blindstitch setting. 6 - 20 stitches per inch, with Reverse and ZigZag. Full Rotary Hook system. Nice original cords and foot controller. 100% working ZigZag as seen by the samples sewn. World famous Singer Drop In Bobbin System, with 4 Singer Class 66 Bobbins. A walking foot has built-in feed dogs that grip and advance the upper layer of fabric that's traveling through the sewing machine in unison with the machine's feed dogs, which grip the underside of the fabric. The action of this special sewing machine foot helps keep the layers from shifting apart as they move through the sewing machine. A walking foot is essential for pucker-free, straight line machine quilting. It is a handy tool to have when you sew together the multi-layers of a rag quilt and when you work with heavy fabrics such as denim and leather. Here is a sample of some Upholstery Cording I did on this machine. One hour on this machine and you will be doing these like a Pro too. It's fairly easy. First, you take a small strip of your Material and wrap it around a stretch of cording rope, and sew it tight with the included Special Zipper/Cording foot. Then, blanket that in two more layers of your Material and sew it tight against the Cord once more. Then trim your excess, and you should have a nicely corded piece. With this machine and the included attachments, you will be able to do your own Upholstery work like a Pro with just a few hours of practice.     Full Rotary Hook System  We used Coats and Clark T26 (Size 69 equivalent) Nylon Upholstery thread for sewing our samples in this auction. It is water resistant and incredibly strong and made for indoor and outdoor use, such as but not limited to, car seats, furniture upholstery, boat covers, horse and pig blankets, car covers, motorcycle seats, repairing sails and tarps, etc. If you are planning on sewing heavy materials, I would suggest you purchase some of this or similar Heavy Duty thread. This type of thread is available at Walmarts, JoAnns Fabric Stores, and most sewing machine dealers for about $2 a spool(150 yards). Nice Condition Singer Foot Controller  Easy Auto Fill Class 66 Bobbin Winding System  As pictured below, I've disassembled the bobbin case, removed the old thread scraps, and polished the rotary hook(left side of picture below). Notice the hook is sharp and shiney. This is an important item to look at on these models. I then reassembled the entire bobbin casing, adjusted the lower tension, and adjusted the needle timing to factory Singer specs.
