Movie description
A delirious comedy from 1939, IRISH LUCK follows bellhop Buzzy O'Brien (Frank Darro) as he attempts a little detective work in order to free the name of his number one crush, Kitty Monahan (Sheila D'Arcy). In order to deflect attention away from Kitty as she becomes the prime suspect in a bond theft, Buzzy secretes her at his mothers house--with comical results as his hard-bitten Irish mother and Kitty find it hard to get along. A crime caper in the true tradition of the genre, IRISH LUCK is a real hoot.

An amateur detective teams up with a frightened bell-hop to solve a series of hotel murders.

Brainy bellhop Buzzy O'Brien (Frankie Darro) tries his hand at sleuthing out a killer when a hundred thousand dollars in bonds disappear and the corpse of Bank Vice President Thaddeus Porter is left in their place. When Kitty Monahan (Sheila D'Arcy), the object of Buzzy's affection, is named as the lead suspect by flat-footed Detective Lanahan (Dick Purcell), Buzzy spirits her away to his mother's apartment where the feisty old Irish battle-ax comically combines courting with crime solving.

Featuring comic turns by Lillian Elliot as Buzzy's Mother and Mantan Moreland as Buzzy's Hotel sidekick, Irish Luck is a whimsical whodunit filled with romance, thrills and just a touch of blarney.
