Since posting my original listing, I have been contacted by Nancy Patterson Lamb and she graciously offered information concerning this piece. L.D. was for Lila Dunn. Lila worked in the casting department making teapots and pitchers, and vases. She also made many unique pieces like the vase shown. Thank you Nancy.
This piece stands 8.5 inches tall and is 5 inches in diameter. Weighs 3 lbs.6 ozs. Colors are beautiful olive an amber. Piece has been in storeage for many years and has no chips or cracks.
Nancy spent two years as a guest artist at the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory. A year in Finland followed at the Arabia factory in Helsinki, where she had an art studio. Another scholarship permitted her to travel and study throughout Europe, the middle east, India, and Southeast Asia. In 1961 she returned to the US and with a native of Damascus, Virginia, Albert Mock, founded a factory in Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee, to manufacture hand crafted dinnerware, Iron Mountain Stoneware.
