The thing we first noticed about
this wonderful old compact is the life-like hand painted maiden on the cover.
Then the elaborate repousse & chase work verso.
Then, just as important, the
superb condition. Nearly perfect. Especially on the inside. It looks never used
and brand new in that regard. You also will be impressed.
The hallmark is somewhat rubbed
but within the lozenge or coffin stamp we can make out 220 FI or FL. Very close
to this anyway. The mark indicates it was made it Firenze, Italy as was typical
in the 40's or so.
On the cover we have the faux
enameled lapis lazuli and as already mentioned, a gorgeous woman...painted by
hand...
There are no scratches or dulling
of the enamel. Even when held to a light, I can see no scratches of any sort.
A premier piece for the collector. Additionally, the hinge is firm and the top
marry's up to the base perfectly. The only wear I see is to some of the gilt
on the outside.
We've sold hundreds of compacts

Shipping
is determined by your location. We do not always ship immediately
after a sale concludes since we cannot pack an item
until after the sale since we get questions all the time that require us
to see the item. We ship twice a week only. Please allow 3-5 days from
the time we receive cleared funds. Most of the time we'll get it out
sooner. Our goal is to get the item to you within 10 days but
mostly much sooner. Buyer is always responsible for all shipping expense.
Please remember when grading us on shipping that we must design each
package to suit the destination and item. This takes a little longer! It's
not like dropping a CD into an envelope and mailing it. We do not make money
on shipping. But since we buy & use professional packing materials
and have found that our customers appreciate a good packing job. We sometimes
charge $2 to $5 handling fee. Insurance is required on all items. *FREE

Condition
is hard to describe with estate items, antiques and used items. Our 'excellent'
may not be the same as your 'excellent' although we are quite
critical. Most importantly, antique excellent is NOT the same as modern
excellent. All our items are used. Argent-De-Massif sells
for consignors as well as liquidating estates. The majority of items are
direct from estates to you. We don't clean items

we will ship the item using EMS / USPS Express ONLY. If you pay by a method
OTHER THAN Paypal then we can use Priority or Parcel Post to save you money.
