We are offering a large Qing Dynasty Imperial Doucai vase in the shape of an archaic bronze "Gu" from Qianlong Period. The vase must have been made as part of a garniture set for Imperial altars. The vase sits on a lower section shaped as an inverted cup rising to a globular middle section and a wide trumpet mouth rim. The exterior is profusely decorated with eight treasures of Buddhism, lotus flowers with vine and other auspicious patterns. The design were executed with precise outline by fine underglaze cobalt blue and elaborate coloring using superb enamel and paler cobalt blue. The interior of the vase is covered with a fine turquoise overglaze enamel. The interior inside the unglazed foot rim is glazed white. A Qinalong six-character mark in seal script is inscribed horizontally at the bottom of the trumpet-shaped upper section of the vase. This beautiful Imperial vase is in excellent state of preservation without any blemish or damage. Size: height:26.6cm; mouth diameter: 15cm; foot diameter: 11.7cm
