Description of item for sale: This top quality antique bronze clock with matching candelabra is from France and the set dates to 1870-1890. The clock body and candelabra are made from heavy reticulated bronze castings that have a very pleasing original antique patina. The clock face is very pretty with a complex bronze backing carrying porcelain cartouches. The eight day clockworks by Japy Freres and they also carry the stamp of renowned Parisian clockmaker Barrard & Vignon. The clock runs very well and keeps excellent time. The 8 day time and strike movement strikes once on the half-hour and tolls the hours with a beautiful sounding nickel bell. The candelabra are beautifully detailed and they show no damage whatsoever. Notice the 3 piece candleholders that are all made from detailed cast parts. The entire set is in excellent antique condition with no damage of any significance except the crack in the face glass of the clock.
