  Description:

India Junagadh / Soruth / Saurashtra State Stamp Paper of 8 Kori on wove paper with watermark State coat of arms surrounded by "SOURASTRA SARKAR" in English and Hindi with Samvat Year 1965 (1909 A.D.) at bottom of the coat of arms in Gujarati. Die embossed without colour. Design as per KM Type 10, but 8 Kori value is unrecorded by KM.

The value tablets in the recorded types are found with the value placed second in figure and the word KORI is placed before the value. But in this stamp paper the value '8' is placed first and that is also in word instead of figure and the word KORI is placed after the value. Also there is an error of wrong character in the value tablet as shown in the above images. It reads AADH instead of AATH in Gujarati (AATH means Eight in Gujarati).

Very clear impression of the die. Fold creases o/w fine and rare.
