OF GERALD FRIED'S "INDIAN MOTIF"

This is an image that brings new delights upon each inspection.  The contrast among architectural elements, fabulous coloration, and theatrical fantasy invite prolonged enjoyment.

  • "Indian Motif is a limited edition lithograph on paper.
  • It is numbered (208/325) and hand signed by Gerald Fried.
  • This piece measures approximately   29 X 22 inches (with border),   26 X 20 inches (image alone).

Gerald Fried was born in NYC in July of 1951, and showed an aptitude for art at an early age.  At the age of twelve, he decided that art would be his career. He began working in pencils, pen and ink, and watercolor while still in high school. Later, Fried attended the Philadelphia College of Art on scholarship, then left to take a job doing lithographs at a prominent New Jersey atelier, where he quickly rose in the ranks to the head of his department.  During his tenure, Fried worked with such artists as Peter Max, William Nelson, Sarah Churchill, John Pitre, Glen Fortune Banse, and Anton Krajnc.  In addition to his illustrations and work in other graphics, the multi-talented Fried has worked across the country as a sign painter, an itinerant musician, and an accomplished juggler.
