Batik painting is one of Indonesia's oldest traditions. Batik painting is made with a special tool called "canting" as a pen, the wax and vividly coloured dyes combine to create unique works of art made on cotton. The traditional skills for batik painting are passed down from generation to generation amongst communities whose livelihoods are dependent on the batik trade. Batik painting depict the artists perceptions usually including brightly coloured birds, exotic landscapes, fire dragons, etc.

There is no end to the creativity that goes into these labour intensive treasures. A batik painting in your place will create an atmosphere of eastern exotism and pleasure for the eye of anyone interested in fine art.
