Waterguard 5/16" Inline Fuel Filter This Filter is for Diesel, Gasoline or Biodiesel. This has a 5/16" inlet and outlet. It is a standard 10 micron particulate removing filter.It also encapsulates free and emulsified water from fuel as it passes through the filter. This filter holds up to 4 ounces of water. Water contamination in fuel streams is a common problem. Failure ranging from degraded performance to fuel injectors and poor fuel range to injector pump problems. It is a pressing and expensive problem throughout the industry. In fact, the number one cause of injector failures is water in the fuel stream. One half of one percent of water mixed in with your fuel can cause catastrophic failure. Poor maintenance and water in in fuel from the refiner or supplier have resulted in water contamination levels as high as 5% in operating systems.
