Please note: the attribution of this item as a West Coast Pressing and the statement of authenticity are to the best of my knowledge and ability, and concur with several experts I have briefly consulted. I am aware that most contemporary copies of this record were period knock-offs, I have seen more than enough of them. This album, jacket and vinyl, appear very authentic to me. Introducing The Beatles: England's No. 1 Vocal Group, by The Beatles. Vee-Jay Records LP 1062. Variation with Please Please Me as first song on side two. Silver on black label. Inner groove notations: symbol (triangle) 6307; symbol (I/R in circle), 63-3402. (Side two the same except the last number is 3403). The I/R in circle symbol is very difficult to make out even under magnification. Rarely do we ever look at the matrix pressing codes on LP album inner grooves, because there are very few examples of which there is any relevance to it. Those who collect 45's of this time especially doo-wop and girl groups will be familiar with the use of the triangle symbol to indicate West Coast pressings, and often found on labels which did not always have ongoing or steady national distribution. This is clearly an authentic and legitimate pressing, so do you have one like it? The jacket is in overall nice condition, there is some minor wear and aging. There is minor moisture damage at the bottom; the bottom spine is half gone but the other two are intact. There is a small index sticker at the top, name of original owner on back in blue fountain pen. Not much if any ringwear though; in fact, other than the bottom half inch which is not that bad, this is one of the nicer covers you would find. There is an address sticker from the family of the original owner on the side 2 label. Played briefly to check condition, this record grades Very Good. There are a number of light scratches, but this is a very well mastered and pressed record; it looks closer to VG- but plays closer to VG+. Great sound across the frequency spectrum, this is a very nice copy to play and enjoy. Please note that this is a PLAY GRADED record. Older records in particular tend to look much better than they sound.Tracks: I Saw Her Standing There, Misery, Anna, Chains, Boys, Ask Me Why, Please Please Me, Baby It's You, Do You Want To Know A Secret?, A Taste Of Honey, Twist And Shout. Shipping: To US $8.00 priority. International Air Service $25.00 Worldwide includes registration. Please verify. (Canada probably cheaper than Worldwide rate). All rates on this album include insurance and delivery confirmation, I will not send it otherwise. Media rate has been offered here ($4.00) but it it not safe for a rare album, and if you want to use media mail you must first send me a notarized letter accepting all risk in the shipment.Use the FREE Counters 1 million sellers do - Vendio! |
