Here is a wonderful early model kayak, with all the indications of Inuit, though not marked. Nineteen inches long, just over 2 inches wide at the widest. Made of skin, wood, leather, gut, bone. Great stitching and hand carving. Missing the harpoon, the string on the crossbow (I think it is a crossbow?), some bone loss on the keel, one leather string has come loose. Also a leather tether near the bow is off. Otherwise sound and in quite good shape overall. The paddler is hand carved wood core, with some kind of shaped and hardened skin as a coat. All hand sewn. It looks like the paddle was once glued to his hands. Paddle is tipped with bone. Other bone accessories adorn the top of the kayak, the tips, etc. Nice old piece!
