Holy Chicken
Size/12" x 15" x 0.5" Medium/Giclee on stretched canvas Date/2008
Limited Edition Print (3) from Ivan Chan Studio
Story/A commissioned painting I couldn't resist sharing with others, the original finger painting celebrated one of my collector's unabashed love of chickens.
The wonderful bird above is based off of the Araucana breed from Chile and is famous for its blue-green eggs as well as its plumage. I've adopted an East Asian inspired turquoise halo for it to emphasize the interconnectedness, or divinity, we share with everything in the world. The chicken has provided food, warmth, and delight to us for centuries. It's the recognition of our relationships that brings out our compassion and lowers our fences.
This 12" x 15" professional quality print or giclee (jee-KLAY) on stretched canvas requires no frame (the 0.5" sides are black) and goes well anywhere cheerfulness and coziness is welcome. A faithful reproduction, it captures the iridescent and brilliant oil paint colors used in the Original Finger Painting.
Authenticity/All work is guaranteed authentic. Signature, date and number on the back.
