I purchased this lovely bag from a boutique about which I learned on the Purse Forum. It’s J.J. Winters’ “Fringe Shoulder Bag” that has shot to the forefront of “must have” bags after several well known stars, including the two main ones from the High School Musical movie series, were pictured carrying it in most of the celebrity magazines. (Sorry, but cannot specifically mention names or ebay’s random reviewer will pull the listing). It’s made from genuine Italian suede and comes in many beautiful colors. This one, which is very popular, is a deep burgundy wine shade. It has a braided shoulder strap with a long enough drop for both shoulder and cross body style carrying. The body is covered with two horizontal layers of 9-inch cascading fringe. The top secures with a magnetic snap. It’s lined with fabulous black and gold brocade. Inside there’s a zippered pocket and plenty of room for all the essentials, including your checkbook, cell phone, keys, PDA, MP3 player ID/business card case, brush, cosmetics bag, brush, gum/mints and a pen. I obtained permission to include one of the retailer’s professional photos as it better demonstrates the beautiful style lines and “in real life” color than those I took in my fluorescent lit kitchen beneath a broad spectrum floor lamp. I’ve also included photos of my husband modeling the bag on the shoulder and messenger style to help you envision size. Ron is 5’ 6” tall and weighs 135.

This wonderful bag incorporates one of the current “must have” bag features – cascading fringe. It’s also a great color that will coordinate with lots of outfits and is year round appropriate. It’s the perfect time of year to carry suede and this one is lighter in weight than most. If you haven’t read any celebrity, style or fashion magazines lately, the boho look is back with a vengeance Just about every magazine you pick up now has a full page spread of items with fringe – shoes, clothes, scarves and of course, handbags. About the Designer/Brand: 

Joyce Winters open the doors to J.J. Winters in the Spring of 2004. She felt there was a great market for hip, fashionable women who wanted a beautiful bag that wasn’t excessively expensive. After working in the fashion industry for other brands for many years, she is now enjoying the transition to handbags, where she’s able to create design that hit today’s trends. Bag Specifics:

• All measurements are approximate and in inches.
• Soft, luxurious, genuine Italian suede in a fabulous deep burgundy wine shade.
• 2 horizontal encircling layers of 9-inch cascading fringe; one row is just below top edge, other is about half way down the bag body and hangs 3 inches below bag bottom.
• Magnetic snap top closure.
• Braided suede strap measures 1W X 36L and is sewn to the top corners. The drop is 18 inches.
• Lined with black and gold brocade.
• Interior back wall zippered pocket measures 8-1/2W X 4-1/2D; suede encased black zephyr zipper with metal head and zipper pull. Centered below the zipper is a logo label.
• Overall bag body dimensions are 17L X 11H X 3-1/2D (depth will expand with contents). I know it's difficult to envision a bag's size without seeing it "in real life" even when the listing includes measurements, modeling photos and the height/weight of the model. Therefore, I recommend that you do what I myself do when considering an online bag purchase. Measure one you already have and compare those measurements to the ones in this listing. You should then be able to determine whether or not the size of this bag will work for you.

I would also encourage you to take the bag to the reputable store of your choice that regularly sells J.J. Winters bags and ask them to confirm authenticity. Shipping Information:

Shipping via insured UPS ground within the USA is free. To ensure there is a mechanism to cover potential damage or loss during shipment and document that the package was delivered to the intended recipient at the address specified on the PayPal payment notification, all packages shipped within the USA will be insured and require a signature for delivery. For those of you who work full time (like me), requiring a signature can be inconvenient. However, since the package will be shipped to the address specified on the PayPal payment notification, you can change the address in PayPal for that specific payment to your work or other location of your choice, such as a UPS store in your area. I wrap packages very securely and have not yet experienced damage or loss. But, there is always a first time for everything so the insurance protects us both. I'm sorry that I cannot afford to offer USPS as a free shipping alternative. If you choose USPS, please understand that the estimated cost includes not only the postage based upon the weight of the bag inside the shipping box w/packaging materials to keep it safe/undamaged during transit but also insurance coverage based upon the replacement value of the bag and the fee for signature required delivery.

I will do my best to securely wrap your package but if on the rare chance your bag does get damaged, please contact me immediately and keep the box and all packaging as the carrier will need to see it for the insurance claim. If you use a knife or other sharp object to open the box, be careful not to let it slip inside where it could penetrate the dust cover and cut the bag. Shipping insurance will not cover that type of damage.

International buyers, I'm sorry but I cannot afford to absorb your shipping cost, but I will do all you need me to do to "facilitate" customs clearance. Depending on value declaration, up to $100 of shipping insurance is included (the max amount the USA will cover and allow me to purchase).
