Limited edition of
3000, low print #65: presented by Miles Inc., supporting the tradition
of cotton farming, copyright 1993. There is an embossed seal of the Miles logo
under the print on the right.
Signed and numbered in pencil by the
artist.
Paper is 22.25 x 31.25 inches, image size is 18.5 x
28.25 inches.
From the
certificate: The early 1930's witnessed many attempts to harvest cotton
with mechanical equipment. One contraption after another was designed: howerver,
all failed to do a satisfactory job. Then in 1932 the model 31 John Deere
mechanical picker entered the scene. The Innovators captures this historic teaming of mule and machine. It depicts
the mule-drawn John Deere picker as it demonstrates its capabilities to harvest cotton. Landowners, old
timers and potential investors look on in amazement.
Jack C. DeLoney is recognized as one of the
top Southern watercolor painters today.
