A unique promotional item offered in Germany is called a film card. On one side of the 4"x6" item is an image of what the German poster looks like. The reverse, as seen on the DAWN PATROL auction, has information about the film. These cards are unique because a collector can see that the German poster often differs from its American counterpart.
Film cards were first introduced into CINEMA MAGAZINE in 1976, less than a year after the monthly magazine began production. For the first two years, the cards were printed on thin paper stock and the titles were primarily silent or early talkies. In 1978, the cards were printed on card stock and a wider range of titles became available. The film cards, from the first two years, are difficult to obtain. Offered is a German film card from JOAN THE WOMAN, starring Geraldine Farrar. This item has minimal wear. An image is attached. If the link is ineffective or if you have any questions, please email. Shipping, within the U.S., is $ 0.55; international shipping is $1.10. The shipping does not increase for multiple eBay film card wins. All sales are fully guaranteed. Good Luck!! At this time, there are 1200 additional film cards in my eBay store. If you are seeking a certain star, director, or genre, simply ask and I will be glad to see what I have.
