JOHN BARBER (1898-1965) OIL on BOARD Show Girl Fine Art

SIGNED OIL on BOARD FINE ART PAINTING SIGNED by DECEASED LISTED AMERICAN ARTIST, JOHN BARBER (1898-1965).

Recently purchased from the original owner's non-smoking North Central Florida estate, this signed Barber oil on board painting depicts a semi-nude show girl seated at rest between performances.

We believe, but have been unable to substantiate, that the artwork dates from the late 1940s, perhaps early 1950s.

The art measures 22 inches wide and 30 inches tall plus the width of the solid hardwood frame a detailed portion of which is shown in one of the photos above.

The colors remain bright and vibrant.

There is no mustiness, stale or unpleasant odors.

There is a single 1/2 inch scratch located at the very top center right near the top of the show girl's hat which is shown in one of the photos above.  This very minor imperfection is invisable when the art is viewed from a normal distance of a few feet.

We've done a substantial amount of research on this artist whose work we've learned has been offered and sucessfully sold at auction houses around the USA.

We found several similar sized, signed John Barber paintings which have sold for $1,300 to $1,500 in recent years.
