This is a SPORTSCASTER CARD from the FRANCE French-language card set.  The France set ran the longest from 1976 to 1980 and is the largest of the Sportscaster sets.  This card is an original not a reproduction.

CARD CONDITION: Near Mint-Mint condition

COPYRIGHT: 1979 Editions Rencontre S.A., Lausanne

CARD MEASURES: 6 1/4 x 5 5/8 inches  (approx. 16 x 12 cm)  

PRINTING / EDITION:  French Sportscasters were all printed in Italy (Imprime en Italie) and there were up to 5 printings of certain decks.  First prints have NO LETTER in the copyright line and 2nd to 5th prints are marked A, B, C, D and they are progressively more scarce, and not all decks even have a 2nd print, and very few have up toa C or D printing.  The printing will be noted in the card number above so if no letter after the card number it is a first print.

The back of this card is in French and includes a write up and stats about the athlete or event shown on the front.  Sportscaster cards were released in several countries and languages around the world in the late 1970s and this card is from the France Set (16 265).
